My intention in this blog is that everyone should be able to find whatever support and information they might need for day-to-day or domestic life.

To that end, you can find here links to my top websites when you’re in need of a little direction.

Around the house

Nigella Lawson – A firm favourite of mine, I have her books, but still turn to her site when on the move or out of the house

Martha Stewart – I could just have easily put this in the gardening section below, but you really can find almost anything over at Martha’s encyclopedic site – check it out!

Delia Smith – A stalwart of British cooking, you can rarely go wrong with Delia’s recipes and guidance!

Jamie Oliver – Whilst not used regularly, he has some brilliant recipes; most recently, his sticky toffee pudding went down a treat at my workplace

Donal Skehan – He has some great recipes and pointers based around homely cooking and less expensive meals, and his Youtube uploads are worth a look too

In the garden

BBC Gardeners’ World – Even if you’re not a fan of the BBC2 classic, you should check out their online pages, full of hints, tips and checklists throughout the year; I also subscribe to their monthly magazine

Bits and bobs

Money Saving Expert – A massive, comprehensive yet easily understandable site relating to all things financial, and particularly excellent for the British reader; usually my first port of call

Carolyne Roehm – This lady is a recent discovery of mine, but I absolutely loved her straightaway! Great, crystal-clear photography with poetry in her writing, she demonstrates things ranging from the garden to interior design to entertaining (less of an advice site than an inspirational one)

Money Advice Service – British-based and a bit basic, but handy nonetheless for financial advice

Do you think I’m missing any great sites from this list? If so, leave a comment and let me know to check it out!
